Choose a stack
Your stack is the set of tools your new app runs on. The Compiler writes code for exactly this stack.
The parts
Frontend shows your pages and runs your workflows.
Next.js: the only option at this time. It runs on Vercel.
Database stores your data and uploaded files.
Supabase: a Postgres database with file storage and user logins. Each data type becomes a table.
Convex: a database that also runs scheduled jobs and stores files. Pages update live when data changes.
Scheduling runs your backend workflows and recurring events. You only pick this with Supabase. Convex runs these jobs itself.
Vercel Workflows: runs jobs on Vercel, next to your app. You do not need another account.
Trigger.dev: a separate service for jobs. It shows each job on a dashboard and supports long jobs. You need a Trigger.dev account.
Which stack to pick
The page marks one option in each part as Recommended. Pick the recommended options if you are not sure.
Pick Trigger.dev only if you know you need it. For example, if you have jobs that run for a long time. It is one more service to pay for and look after.
Confirm
Click Confirm stack. After you generate your app, you cannot change the stack.
