Testing Buildprint's changes
Overview
The Preview feature lets you open your Bubble app as any user directly from the chat interface. This is useful for verifying changes on a specific branch or page before deploying to production.
Opening the Preview menu
Click the Preview button in the chat header (the play icon). This opens a menu where you configure three things:
User - search for a Bubble app user by email
Branch - choose which version of your app to preview (e.g. Live, Test, or another development branch)
Page - select which page to open
Searching for a user
Type an email address into the search field. Buildprint searches your Bubble app's user database for matches. Select a user from the results to proceed.
The search is naturally version-specific - it queries the database associated with the selected branch. Live and non-live branches use separate databases in Bubble, so switching between them will clear your user selection.
Selecting a branch and page
Use the Branch and Page dropdowns to choose where to preview.
Running the preview
Once you've selected a user, branch, and page, click Run as to open the preview in a new browser tab. You'll be authenticated as the selected user on the chosen branch and page. You must be logged into the Bubble editor for this feature to work.
Tips
Use Preview to quickly verify agent-made changes on a development branch before merging.
If no users appear in search results on a Live branch, your collaborator permissions may be limited to test-only access.
